Getting our game on with AJ Ogilvy retired NBL athlete

This week on JOY Drive, Jacs Host of Game On joins JOY Drive host Warren Andrew to talk being your authentic self with retired professional basketballer Andrew “AJ” Ogilvy.

AJ came out publicly last month in the lead up to the NBL Pride Round now in its fourth year. He had a 12 year career spanning 218 games, played at the top level with the Sydney Kings and the Illawarra Hawks where he was team captain in 2020-21 and 2021-22.

When asked what would he say to athletes concerned about being their authentic selves at an elite level his response was don’t worry as he has been accepted with the basketball community wrapping their arms around him, and in his words “filled his heart with love”.
