Welcome to Game On! JOY 94.9’s Home of Sport every Wednesday from 6-7pm where you’ll hear where you can get your game on! This show is all about showcasing where sport is safe, inclusive, welcoming and fun for the Rainbow community!

Tanya Hosch, AFL’s Executive General Manager of Inclusion and Social Policy joined the show to share a fantastic initiative in sport and the AFL – a dedicated LGBTQIA+ education module aimed at targeting homophobia in the sport. The module must be completed by all 787 players and 3232 officials before the start of the AFL season with all AFLW players also included for the start of their season later this year. It’s fantastic that the AFL continues to advocate for the LGBTIQA+ community to be welcome in our national game on and off the field while sending the strong message that homophobic language is not welcome in sport. We spoke with Beau Newell, National Program Manager Pride In Sport about the positivity of the Pride In Sport Awards with the Finalists about to be announced for the year, inputs into the AFL LGBTQIA+ education module, and the Australian Pride In Sport Festival and all the fun to be had! If you would like to get out and about in nature, Sigrid Pitkin, Committee Member with Climbing QTs joined us to invite you on a hike! The Climbing QTs climbing group has ventured further afield and have started group hikes. Their first hike was a sell-out! Sigrid has lots of fantastic information about how you can get involved and get hiking with the Hiking QTs! (Starts 24 minutes 33 seconds)

And with the AFL Season 2025 about to begin its the perfect time to get onboard and join one of the may AFL LGBTIQA+ supporter groups – like the Ruby Demons – an inclusive supporter group for all LGBTIQ Melbourne fans and anyone who loves the Melbourne Football Club!
