Welcome to Game On JOY 94.9’s Home of Sport every Wednesday from 6-7pm where you’ll hear where you can get your game on! This show is all about showcasing where sport is safe, inclusive, welcoming and fun for the Rainbow community!

We chat with Nick Western a member of Melbourne’s gay and inclusive rugby club the Melbourne Chargers in the JOY 94.9 Sport Studio about what makes the Chargers so special as a club, Australia’s national donation service, about Lifeblood allowing gay and bi men, transgender women, and anyone taking HIV prevention medication PrEP to donate plasma without a wait period if they meet all other eligibility criteria, and how Nick is spreading the word! Have you considered camel racing as a sport? Second generation cameleer Emily Parrot is following the inaugural Desert Champions Way: Outback Camel Trail through Outback Australia, stopping off at four camel races along the way. Birdsville, the Bedourie Camel Races , the Boulia Camel Races – winning the 400 metre race on Polished Copper – and is set for the Winton Camel Races on July 26. We hear from Carly Salmon – former Paralympic sprinter, now a rising star with the ParaMatildas—Australia’s first national team for women and girls with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury and symptoms of stroke. Carly is also a two-time Thrive with Pride ambassador, using her voice to champion inclusion for LGBTQIA+ people in sport. We talk winning and living life with purpose through sport. (Starts 32mins)
