Handclaps & Harmonies first show – Sunday 7 July
Interesting times being back on air and on my own for the first time. I hope you enjoyed week one of Handclaps and Harmonies. Really my whole aim is to play you some interesting indie pop, strummy lala and plinky lala tracks to soundtrack your Sunday mornings.
Quick definitions
Strummy lala = songs that are primarily acoustic guitar and a singer/ songwriter.
Plinky lala = see above except a piano replaces an acoustic guitar.
My Music Pick of The Week
Back when I was co-hosting Diff’rent Strokes with Dave we would take turns to pick a song for the week. I decided to carry that segment over to Handclaps and Harmonies. My pick of the week for July 7 is The Melodic and their song ‘On My Way.’ It comes from their EP of the same name. You definitely should check out the whole EP it’s amazing.
I played a bunch of other songs that I’ve listed below. If you’ve got recommendations for me email me: handclapsandharmonies@joy.org.au or send me a tweet @handclapsonJOY
