Light the Way Home Initiative

This month marks the first anniversary of comedian Eurydice Dixon’s death. The ‘Light the Way Home’ initiative is making it safer for vulnerable comedians to get home safely after gigs.

Jacq and Dene talk to producer Vic Hanlon and comedian Caili Christian about the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s decision to keep the initiative running year-round.

‘Light the Way Home’ allows comedians to order a ride home between the hours of 9pm and 2am. The program is currently relying on donations and prioritises access for female-identifying, non-binary and trans people.

You can help by making a donation at the Comedy Festival website.

If you are a comedian who may be eligible to be part of the ride share account, please email LTWHregister@comedyfestival.com.au.
