Zoos Victoria saving Australia’s threatened species

Australia Added Record Numbers of Wildlife to the List of Threatened Species in 2023. Over 2200 species are now threatened with extinction in Australia, many due to climate change and habitat destruction.

Hearing figures like this can easily make us feel helpless – well the good news is that there are people who work with threatened species in the hope of preventing further losses.  In this podcast, we’ll find out about the rediscovery of the Victorian Grassland Earless Dragon, last seen over 50 years ago!

Guest: Nick Cleman, Senior Biologist Herpetology at Zoos Victoria.

Presenter: Warren Andrew
