Dr Lisa Harrison: Doomscrolling

We have all been there… a quick check of the news before bed turns into an hours-long rabbit hole of scrolling through distressing headlines. One article leads to another, and suddenly, it is late at night, your mind is racing, and sleep feels impossible. This phenomenon, known as doomscrolling, sneaks up on us, leaving us anxious, overwhelmed and sometimes even helpless.

But in a world where staying informed is crucial, how do we strike the right balance? How can we engage with important news without it damaging our mental health?

Guest: Dr Lisa Harrison, Lecturer in Digital Communications at Flinders University

Presenter: Warren Andrew
