From December 2025, social media platforms must take “reasonable steps” to block under-16s from creating or keeping accounts. Professor Lisa Given from RMIT unpacks what the new law means for teens, parents, and tech giants, including how platforms will handle privacy and appeals, and whether the rules can be effectively implemented in practice.
