PeR goes Marley
Latvia took the Press Centre by storm today after running through their Dress Rehearsal in Malmö Arena.
Beatboxers PeR, consisting of Edmunds and Ralph, gave the audience lots to think about, especially in ways that the Eurovision Song Contest could be improved.
“I’m a fan of what Eurovision could be,” Edmunds began before continuing to give suggestions about how the Contest could be improved.
To bring a wider voice to the Contest, the boys believed that “… artists have to write their own stuff, that they do every day and submit it…” so that more artists’ voices can be heard. And on the ever-debated subject of voting, the message was simple: “Political voting has to get, like, go away.”
Ralph noted that he wanted the festival feeling of the Contest back, saying that “the energy of the audience” needs to return.
Edmunds reminisced about his attempt to be the Latvian entrant for the 2004 Junior Eurovision Contest, singing a song about a monkey. He was sad to not be selected that time, but excited about the opportunities with Here We Go in this year’s contest.
PeR finished by breaking out in song.
