We’re off to Denmark!

Surprise! Emmelie de Forest trounced the opposition to win this year’s Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final. For those of us who were hoping for a surprise result, it was shattering. But it wasn’t a shattering occasion for the barefoot Dane.
Her song Only Teardrops was a favourite from the very beginning, though she told the press that she never thought that it would be a shoe-in to win.
When asked about the craziest moment, de Forest explained that “When they told us that we won, I didn’t understand it. I just saw the butterfly with the Danish flag and my team just jumped up and I was like, ‘What?'”
And as a special present to JOYEurovision lovers, here’s a clip of Emmelie de Forest’s performance of the winning song at the Euro Club, where all the fans and press go to party afterwards!
