The magic number is 39

For months, Eurovision’s Executive Supervisor, Jon Ola Sand, has been teasing the world about just how many countries would be represented in next year’s Contest in Vienna.

Finally, the number was revealed: 39.

This is an increase of two on the number of entries in this year’s contest, and marks the return of Cyprus, the Czech Republic and Serbia to the Eurovision fold. Due to their current situation, Ukraine has pulled out of the Contest and Turkey‘s return is still just out of reach.

The full list is as follows:

  • Albania

  • Austria (Host country)
  • Azerbaijan
  • Belarus
  • Belgium
  • Cyprus
  • Czech Republic
