Ireland: Molly Sterling plays with Irish numbers in Vienna
The final of EuroSong 2015 has been played out on RTE’s The Late, Late Show, with Molly Sterling winning the Irish ticket to Vienna for the 60th Eurovision Song Contest.
The 16-year-old singer won the Irish competition with the song Playing With Numbers, co-written with Greg French. Sterling is a self-taught musician, hailing from County Tipperary. She wrote the song about the risks that people take in every day life.
Sterling won the public vote with her pop ballad, but was the third favourite song of the jury. The jury’s favourite track was second-placed Kat Mahon with her (grammatically interesting) song Anyone Got A Shoulder.
What do you think of the Irish selection?
