All Aboard as JOY goes to Eurovision!

The Eurovision Song Contest is Europe’s biggest TV show, with an audience of over 180 million people last year, including a combined Grand Final audience of over 450 000 here in Australia.

Celebrating 25 years on air, Australia’s first and only LGBTIQ community radio station will be once again be Out, Loud, Proud on the ground in Portugal for all the Eurovision glitz, glamour and drama from 30 April – 12 May 2018.

Join Michael, JOY 94.9‘s Music Director, as he brings the excitement of Eurovision from Lisbon direct to your radio, phone, tablet and computer.

In the week leading up to Eurovision (30 April – 6 May), find out about the people who will be performing in the three shows, with a selection of interview podcasts and live video content on Facebook and Instagram. You’ll also go behind the scenes and get all the juicy goss via the rolling posts on the JOYEurovision website and live crosses during breakfast and drive.

During Eurovision week (7 – 12 May), stay tuned to JOY‘s diverse breakfast and drive shows to hear the latest updates from Lisbon as well as some exclusive content from within the Eurovision inner sanctum. Throughout the day, listen out for interview highlights and get your hands on the full interviews via the JOYEurovision podcast feed on iTunes or the JOY website.

Melbourne’s only Eurovision radio show, JOYEurovision, continues every Saturday at 8pm AEST, with Michael joined by Liam live from Lisbon and supported in the studio by Mark and the team. Join them as they preview the songs in each of the shows and remember to vote for your favourite!

Throughout the fortnight, Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix gets a touch of Euro-love as your favourite Eurovision hits get a play during your workday.

“I’m honoured to be representing JOY at Eurovision again this year,” said Michael. “We’re planning to deliver the biggest fortnight yet. We’ll once again be broadcasting live from the press centre and creating unique content to use both on air and online. It’s one of the biggest parties of the year and there’s nothing better than being able to bring all its colour to Australia’s only LGBTI radio station.”

All Aboard! The best way to be in Lisbon is to stay turned on to JOY.

During the Eurovision fortnight, make sure you:
