Iceland: María Fixes the Broken
Icelandic national selection competition Söngvakeppnin has concluded, with a contemporary pop song taking top spot.

María Ólafsdóttir won the competition with her English-language song, Unbroken, originally released in Icelandic and called Lítil Skref.
From a field of seven finalists, two songs were voted by the public and jury to go through to the superfinal: Unbroken and Friðrik Dór’s Once Again. The public had complete control over the result of the superfinal and chose the 22 year old singer.
Having been singing and dancing since the age of 5, Ólafsdóttir is no stranger to the stage. She has performed in many musicals and stage productions in Iceland, including playing one of the Von Trapp children in The Sound of Music. The song is produced by the StopWaitGo production team of Ásgeir Orri Ásgeirsson, Pálmi Ragnar Ásgeirsson and Sæþór Kristjánsson.
