The Hidden Faces exhibitions are the alternative to the Archibald Prize touring exhibition and run in tandem with that show. The free exhibition, which is on at the Hilton Melbourne South Wharf until 8 August, is open to Victorian artists who submitted for this year’s Prize but did not make the cut. There are 52 portraits in this year’s Hidden Faces, and one of them is Jim van Geet’s portrait of Supreme Court Justice Betty King, called We’re Home, Toto. Katie and Jim talk about the exhibition, his portrait of Justice King, the art of portraiture, and working from Myrtleford in north-east Victoria. (Originally aired on 14 June 2013.)
