It’s 1998. While still in aspirant licensee mode, making the best use of the allowed number of hours per month we could broadcast, we came to an agreement with other aspirant stations to share our frequency and get to broadcast from Friday morning through to Monday night each week. As well as the indigenous station Kool n Deadly, we also share with Muslim radio, so listeners could wake up with disco on a Monday morning and the call to Islamic prayer on a Tuesday morning. What better way to celebrate 1998 on JOY than with Tina Cousins biggest hit of that year, “Pray”.
