Each year in Australia Reconciliation Week is held from 27 May – 3 June.

The week is intended to promote better relations between the country’s First Peoples and non-Indigenous Peoples, as relations are somewhat strained. (See what efforts a nation has to go through when they don’t recognise the sovereign rights of the Indigenous Peoples)

Anyway, Kath and bryan are so hip and non-token in their approach to programming that they totally forgot about Reconciliation Week, but had planned to have a few Aboriginal People in anyway. Talk about serenditpity!

Our guests this week are Rhys Kinsey and Crystal McKinnon two members of OutBlack – Victoria’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait GLBTIQ & Sistergirls group.

We talk about the history of OutBlack, their aims and aspirations, their recent CAMP! Getaway; and how OutBlack is still not supported by Victorian gay and lesbian health authorities, despite seeking support consistently throughout their 16 year history.
