In 2008, on February 13, Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, made an apology on behalf of the Australian government for the nation-wide process of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child removal.
On Febraury 13 2014, Kath and bryan attended the Apology Day Concert at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, to record a range of interviews and share them on-air with a wonderful guest, Community Engagement/Education officer at Connecting Home, Eva Jo Edwards.
EvaJo is a passionate speaker and through the course of the show we discuss the meaning of Apology Day, the power of arts and culture, and Eva Jo’s own stories as a member of the Stolen Generations.
We also hear from Apology Day concert goers, including Aboriginal people who raise identity and community debates, as well as two very enthusiastic young folk who are into Apology Day as joyous entertainment and effective political education.
