This Lefty Pinkoes podcast features our charmed chat with writer Victor Marsh. Victor joins us to talk about his hot-off-the-press autobiography The Boy in the Yellow Dress.

Yes, it’s yet another story about a boy’s coming of age and his blossoming homosexuality in a stifling society; but Victor raises the bar with a series of skilfully tempered vignettes that give insight into Western Australia’s history and society, and Victor’s own same-sex attractions and his longing for belonging.  He’s a writer with much generosity, and his voice on the page is sincere, charming and engaging; much like his voice on air!

Victor’s writing aside, we discuss his work as a televsion producer; his road to hell then healing then self-enlightenment; and his name-drop-aplenty stage and televison past – there’s Kylie from Camberwell, her sister Danni, Helen Garner, Dorothy Hewett.
