We’ve got you covered

Back in the 1970s, when it was not unheard of for artists to release multiple albums in a single year, the music industry relied on in house and career songwriters to keep churning out the hits. Songs would be written and then sent around to various producers to see if they might fit an act they were working with. Likewise, producers and artists were always on the look out for songs that may not have been a big hit when they were originally released but might be if they put their particular spin on it.  This meant that several versions of the same song might be released by different artists – not only in the same decade but sometimes in the same year, month or week. Who did the better version? You be the judge
