An Aussie independent dance double-up kicks off our additions this week. Art vs Science are often more likely to be heard on the J’s than on JOY, but we’re nothing if not willing to give something a go when we think you’ll enjoy it. Create/Destroy is their first new work in three years and is shiny indie pop that will get your feet tapping. As well, Melbourne outfit Architecture in Helsinki bring us a new disco-tinged pop ditty, I Might Survive, which will have you singing along in no time.
Stand-in JOY breakfast presenter, TV host, actor and singer Tim Campbell is releasing an album of classic disco covers and the first two have been sent to radio this week, ahead of the album release on 4 April. We’ve elected to run with the Simple Minds hit of 1985, “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”.
North African-born, Denmark-based Nabiha’s international debut is a very pretty piece of 1990’s style-pop.
Originally previewed on their American TV program back in January 2013, The Saturdays have picked “Not Giving Up” as the fifth single from their fourth studio album, with a single release date of 4 April. The package includes a swag of remixes and we had a tough choice between two favourites, Cahill or JRMX. This time the JRMX Club Heaven Edit is just that little bit more gay.
