Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger delayed the release of her latest album after the first single, ‘Boomerang’, failed to resonate in the UK, and to concentrate on her role in the most recent series of the UK’s X Factor. Turns out she was also negotiating a change in record company – her first single with Sony Music kicks off our new music this week.
Nile Rodgers is one of the kings of funk, soul and disco, the frontman for 70s powerhouse Chic and the producer behind many, many hits in the intervening years. He returns with a song he wrote for the International Music Summit last year.
Australian singer-songwriter Elen Levon, along with her record company Ministry of Sound, has been plugging away at the Australian pop music scene with a bunch of great singles over the last two years. Strangely, she has had more success in Italy, where she charted in the top 20 with Dancing to the Same Song. Let’s hope Australian radio finally gets behind Elen with ‘Kingdom’ – we certainly believe she deserves the support.
Canberra stalwarts The Aston Shuffle return to our airwaves, this time teaming up with producer and singer-songwriter Elizabeth Rose. Elizabeth is another talented Australian who has had more success overseas than here at home.
