Despite receiving great reviews from many quarters and being one of the nicest people in the business, Ricki-Lee’s fourth studio album, Dance in the Rain, debuted at only #14 this week – a disappointing result compared to her #7 debut for Fear & Freedom in 2012. In addition, ‘GiddyUp’, released two weeks ago as the third single, has failed to trouble the charts at all. Let’s hope fast-tracking the release of her fourth single, ‘Mirage’, improves the fortunes of one of our favourite Aussie artists.
The X Factor also-rans get their alternative ‘winners’ single releases this week, and Mudgee boys Brothers3 win the ‘most interesting’ pop single award of the week.
Scotch DJ-producer-singer Calvin Harris releases the fourth single from Motion and will be hoping to emulate the massive success of his previous collaboration with British songstress Ellie Goulding.
