Sales for Kelly Clarkson’s latest album, Piece by Piece, reached top 5 here in Australia, and the second single, Invincible, is Kelly at her best. She kicks off our new music additions this week.
UK songstress Paloma Faith has lifted a sixth single, Beauty Remains, from her repackaged and extended third album, Perfect Contradiction – Outsiders Edition.
Clean Bandit have called on the exquisite vocals of 22-year-old out-and-proud Alex Newell (best known for his portrayal of Unique, the trans* student in the TV program Glee) as well as Sean Bass (the brother of Sharna Bass, who led vocals on previous single, ‘Extraordinary’) for their latest single, Stronger.
Australian singer-songwriter Daniel Johns, best known as the former front man of the rock band Silverchair, will release his first full-length solo album later this month, and the first official single, Cool on Fire, is perfectly formed synth-pop with heart and soul.
And finally we have a remake from 90s European and US club chart regular Abigail (possibly best known in Australia for an interesting cover of the R.E.M. hit ‘Losing my Religion’), teaming up with out-and-proud DJ-producers Toy Armada and DJ Grind (Mardi Gras ’15, Daywash, GH) to freshen up her biggest US track from 1999 and give it a kick into the 21st century.
