Get ready for Radiothon with the newest tracks to hit Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix.
Sydney-based trio Glades are back with a song that would probably fit in any workplace. ‘Not About You’ is a pop anthem written for that person who always seems to end up being the centre of attention in a crowd of people. We dare you not to sing this one under your breath.
When Peking Duk burst on to the music scene, we thought Canberra had reached peak excitement. It seems were were wrong. Panda-mask-loving Marét has dropped her funk-filled single, and ‘Vertigo’ is a corker. We’re expecting some big things from this singer-songwriter based on her cool debut.
Queensland-based DJ duo Bonka have taken the world by storm, producing mashups with tracks from The Chainsmokers, Timmy Trumpet and Tommy Trash and entertaining their fans with a monthly podcast. Lachlan and Connor have teamed up with British singer-extraordinaire Luciana for a huge dance track designed to get you up and moving while at work. ‘Be Alive’ is the follow-up release to ‘Killa’, which got to #2 on the ARIA club chart. We reckon you’d be bonkers not to be dancing to this one.
Jonas Blue had top 10 success with ‘Mama’ last year and is hoping for more of the same with his newest. ‘Rise’ features the vocals of American duo Jack & Jack – childhood friends Jack Johnson and Jack Gilinsky – and is exactly the type of uplifting singalong that makes the day fly.
Earlier this year, Paloma Faith released a cover of the 1969 classic from the Will-O-Bees for a European car maker’s charity commercial. Our mate James Wiltshire from Freemasons got a hold of it and gave ‘Make Your Own Kind of Music’ an F9 twist. It’s now parked itself right here at JOY for your listening pleasure.
