There’s something for everybody in this week’s additions to Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix.

British band Years & Years release their second album, Palo Santo, this Friday, and we’re one of the first in Australia to playlist the second single from it. ‘If You’re Over Me’ is a playful bop with poppy synths and a whole heap of clapping to bring joy to your ears. This one’s bound to give the band another top 10 entry on the chart. If you’ve ever wondered how acrobatic out-and-proud Olly Alexander is, or you’re a fan of lycra and leotards, be sure to check the video out.

English house music legend Rich B has teamed up with gay American singer and theatre actor Levi Kreis to remake an 80s classic. Reaching #13 on the Australian chart in 1982, Hall and Oates’ original had lighting, hair and sax made for the time. Thankfully Rich B has updated ‘I Can’t Go for That’ for today’s dance floor – and we think you will go for that when it plays during the day.

Canberra hasn’t had many good news stories of late, so it’s pleasing to hear something new from Canberran duo The Aston Shuffle. Mikah Freeman and Vance Musgrove continue the house theme in ‘Everything I Got’ – a piano-laden thumper that would sound amazing in Parliament House’s Great Hall. Let’s be honest: the parliament needs a good party to shake its sillies out, and this would work a treat.

P!NK‘s back in Oz shortly for a gazillion sold-out shows across the country. Her latest album, Beautiful Trauma, peaked at #1 here and has been certified platinum four times over, but that hasn’t stopped her from dropping another single from it. ‘Secrets’ employs scat singing, allowing you to da da da da do do do along with one of Australia’s most popular international artists. Don’t let your enjoyment of this one be a secret, though.

Get ready for a new album from Chic on 14 September. It’s About Time is the first album from the group in 25 years, and ‘Till the World Falls’ is the lead single from it. It’s classic Nile Rodgers, with some smooth disco vibes made to get you grooving wherever you might be. The band and Nile are supported by British producer Mura Masa, American-born (but London-based) singer Cosha and American rapper Vic Mensa. If you love polyester and glitter, you’re bound to love this bop.
