We reckon we have more new music than any other radio station. With this week’s additions, we think you’ll agree!
The boys are back with another banger. Nick, Joe and Kevin, aka the Jonas Brothers, are channelling knee-slapping goodness in ‘What a Man Gotta Do’, topping it off with an earworm of a chorus. The video sees the brothers teaming up with their respective partners to relive some classic movies from the 90s. We think you’ll appreciate Nick’s ode to Risky Business.
Four-member band Sunset City have dropped the follow-up to their banger Forget It All. The boys from the Sunshine Coast have written about that person you like who makes you a little bit clumsy when you’re around them in ‘Feels So Right’. They even produced and directed the video themselves.
You might remember Josef Salvat from his 2014 release Open Season, but this Sydney-born fella hasn’t been lying low since. Now based in London, the bisexual singer-songwriter released Night Swim in 2015, which went gold in France. The video for his latest single, ‘in the afternoon’, sees Josef tell a story of love, lust and fun between people, which is the same no matter what gender, sexuality or desire.
Australia gets to decide its Eurovision entry on 8 February and one of this year’s hopefuls is someone you might know. Jordan-Ravi has spent the last few months busking in Melbourne’s CBD after appearing on America’s Got Talent. The Darwin-born singer has thrown on his guitar to record a song by George Sheppard and Tania Doko, and we think ‘Pushing Stars’ will be the sparkle you need for your workday.
Everyone loves a bit of ABBA, so when one of their songs is remixed for the dance floor, it’s bound to be a hit. Melbourne’s Sgt Slick has taken ‘Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!’ and turned it into a banger that is being requested in clubs across Australia and beyond. Find a space, make a circle, put your handbags down and boogie along to this one.
New Zealand group The Naked and Famous have returned to the studio as a duo after disbanding post their 2016 album Simple Forms. Thom Powers and Alisa Xayalith, now based in LA, are putting the finishing touches on their new album Recover, due in May. ‘Bury Us’ is the second single from the album and arrives ahead of the pair’s return to Australia for the Wine Machine Festival in March and April.
Gay DJ-producer Brett Oosterhaus has teamed up with fellow American Debby Holiday to celebrate music. ‘Living for the Music’ is the vocal house follow-up to ‘Girl from the Gutter’, and we’ve gone with the Dirty Werk mix to bring an uplifting boost to your workday.
A big 2019 saw Peking Duk go gold, tour across Australia and delight crowds with their bushfire relief show in Melbourne. Canberra natives Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles are back for the new year with a track that will grow on you. Featuring the smooth vocals of TNAF’s Alisa Xayalith, ‘Move’ is made for a cool summer dance. We think you’ll appreciate it.
