Nineteen-year-old Brisbane-based independent singer-songwriter Joel Adams first appeared on our screens a couple of years ago on Australia’s The X Factor as Joel Goncalves. In the period since then, Joel has amassed more than 1.3 million followers across social media. His debut single, Please Don’t Go, kicks off our new music this week.
The Aussie dream team that created the worldwide hit ‘We No Speak Americano’ in 2010 are back. From Me to You, the latest single from Melbourne-based DJ-producer DCUP (Duncan MacLennan) and Brisbane-based DJ-production duo Yolanda Be Cool (Andrew Stanley and Matthew Handley), is a solid house track that we think will do well for the boys.
Tasmanian-based singer-songwriter ASTA has been riding the wave of success for her debut single, ‘Dynamite’, across community radio and Triple J. ‘Wild Emotion’ is an excellent follow-up that we think you will enjoy at least as much.
American independent out-and-proud singer-songwriter Colette Carr sent us her debut single and it’s pure dance-pop. If you like what we do weekdays on JOY, you’re going to love Play House.
Last but never least, out-and-proud American country-rock artist Melissa Etheridge released her 13th studio album, This is M.E., last week. Check out the fantastic interview she did with JOY presenter Dee Mason last month. The lead single, Take My Name, is everything you would hope for and expect from Melissa.
Set your alarm and tune into Rochén, Adam or Michael on the six at six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
