While we deal with uncertainty around us, you can be certain that you’ll hear music to lift your spirits during the day on JOY.
Bi Aussie songstress Starley is over social distancing. ‘Arms Around Me’, the second single from her forthcoming debut album, is all about getting close to an ex because you’re both lonely. You might not be able to cuddle up right now, but this should make you feel warm and fuzzy.
Speaking of being lonely, Rita Ora has spent a heap of time on her own of late and has used that experience to help pen her newest. The out-and-proud British singer-songwriter has dropped ‘How to Be Lonely’, which celebrates connections and enjoying one’s own company. We think you’ll connect with this one!
Melbourne-based DJ-producer Chloe Wilson has been getting the crowds dancing at festivals of late, including the latest instalment of Ultra Australia. She’s teamed up with house music legend Ivan Gough and Swedish singer NEIMY for her debut single, ‘200 Years’. If you need a touch of house to groove to, this will be right up your alley.
Anna Buckingham was told to ‘be more like a girl’ when she was growing up in the suburbs of Sydney. As an adult, she’s turned the tables and taken the moniker BOI for her musical journey. Her latest single, ‘Fairytale’, throws shade for days at all those Disney princess tales we’re used to hearing. It might be a different sound, but we reckon you’ll enjoy it.
As we wait for OneRepublic‘s fifth studio album, Human, to drop in May, we get to enjoy its third single. ‘Didn’t I’ is a measured pop track from the American six-member band, held together perfectly by frontman Ryan Tedder’s vocals. There’s no doubt you’ll have the chorus swimming around in your head.
Fancy a bit of pop-rock? The Killers have got you covered, especially as they prepare to visit us in November. Having just announced that their sixth studio album, Imploding the Mirage, is coming on 29 May, the American band has released ‘Caution’. With a driving beat, guitar for days and lead singer Brandon Flowers’ distinctive warble, we think you’ll throw caution to the wind and rock along to this wherever you happen to be.
