Released early due to a possible leak of her new album, ‘Break My Heart’ is the newest bop from Dua Lipa. The British singer-songwriter samples part of INXS’s 1987 song ‘Need You Tonight’ in this 80s-inspired piece of pop brilliance. While in isolation, why not learn the moves to the dance in the music video?

Aussie band 5 Seconds of Summer released their fourth album, C A L M, last week, and with it came their latest single. Wildflower delivers even more 80s love to your workday as 5SOS’s bassist, Calum Hood, takes the singing reins. There are synths, there are guitars and there are even missing words. It’s a song to play along to while you’re on your own.

Sam Feldt has just unveiled his own music label, Heartfeldt Records. To celebrate the joyous occasion, the Dutch DJ-producer has teamed up with British singer Ella Henderson to deliver some joy to your ears. ‘Hold Me Close’ is a bouncy, uplifting bop that’s bound to bring a smile to your face. To keep you smiling, Sam will ask a mate to plant a tree for every 250,000 streams of the song. Get listening!

It’s a new era for British girl group Little Mix. ‘Break Up Song’ is the lead single from their forthcoming sixth studio album, and it sees a return to the big pop sound that the girls found success with early in the group’s career. Perrie, Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Jade were also due to begin a TV career with the launch of Little Mix: The Search on the BBC, but the current pandemic has brought that to a halt for now.

Singer-songwriter Rod Thomas is probably better known to you as Bright Light Bright Light. The gay Welshman has teamed up with American singers Niki Haris and Donna De Lory and Tokyo-based producer Initial Talk to tell a story of the demise of safe places in our communities. ‘This Was My House’ is a house-inspired “fierce declaration that whoever you are, you have the right to feel safe and welcome in the place you call home”.

Already a Top 10 chart hit in Australia, VELVET is the fourth studio album from out-and-proud singer Adam Lambert. Its title track combines funk, 70s guitar and the strong, smooth vocals we expect from the American. The video sees Adam measuring inside legs and exciting a fashionable audience as he advertises his abilities as a tailoring saviour. It’s one to watch.

Spotify has announced its RADAR project to help up-and-coming artists around the world with mentors and studio space. One of the project’s releases is ‘Save Me’, a thumping progressive house track from Middle East-based artists. Greg Stainer and Olly Wood are Hollaphonic and, although they are British, the DJ duo have made major waves through Dubai and beyond. Lebanese singer Xriss joins the duo, having made an impact on the region after coming fourth in The Voice Arabia in 2012. This one’s a banger and we reckon it will give you some major Commercial Road flashbacks.

In 2003, Jamelia’s track ‘Superstar’ climbed to the top of the Australian chart. Seventeen years later, Dutch DJ Joe Stone has put his own spin on the hit and made it dancefloor-ready. He has enlisted the vocal support of four-member British girl group Four of Diamonds, who came eighth in The X Factor UK in 2016. We think you’ll enjoy the update.
