New music to weekdays (October 30, 2013)

Luxe – Youthful (Steve Luxe Nu-Disco Radio Edit) (QUARK)
Warren Nomi – Love Out Loud (JXWorldwide)
LeAnn Rimes – Spitfire (7th Heaven Radio Edit) (CURB)
Adam Martin – This World Is Yours (UMA)
Dami Im – Alive (SME)
Union J – Beautiful Life (SME)
Sultan & Ned Shepard feat Zella Day & Sam Martin – All These Roads (NEON/WMA)

Pennsylvanian brothers Steve and Ray Luxe kick off a trifecta of gay contributions this week. We haven’t heard from Luxe since Simple Attraction in 2009 from the album Mirrorballs. The boys are quoted as stating they were waiting until they were happy they had the right songs before heading back into the studio. The first single from the second album, River of Orchids, which is due out late in the year, arrived this week.

Melbourne independent out-and-proud singer-producer Johnny X, working with Duane “Don’t Call Me Baby” Morrison, is behind out-and-proud LA-based independent singer-songwriter Warren Nomi’s new LGBT equality anthem. All sale proceeds from “Love Out Loud” are earmarked for LGBT lobby groups both here and the USA.

Union J’s Jaymi Hensley announced last week that he is to marry his long term partner in 2015. A UK #8 chart position for Beautiful Life means life certainly is beautiful for the out-and-proud 23-year-old.

It’s often hard for us to resist a 7th Heaven or Dave Audé remix here at JOY and when American country and pop star LeAnn Rimes released a version of her last single with no less than nine remixes to choose from, including the aforementioned, we almost had a meltdown. 7th Heaven won out this time around.

We have a very nice progressive house vocal from Canadian stalwarts Sultan and Ned Shepard for the dance divas among you.

There’s Aussie music this week from The Voice 2012 finalist Adam Martin and, of course, this year’s Australian X Factor winner, Brisbane-raised, South Korean-born Dami Im.

Set your alarm and tune into Rochén and Michael on the six at six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday morning at 6am.
