It’s been 15 months since we last heard from one of our favourite Melbourne outfits, Empire Live. With a debut EP in the works, the first single, ‘Memories’, is a serious nod to the early 90s. We think you’ll like what you hear.

Another local independent fave, out-and-proud Peter Wilson, brings us the fifth single from his current album. With Dutch producer Matt Pop on duty, ‘I’m Alive’ is unashamedly 80s Stock, Aitken & Waterman in style.

British nu-romantic/pop band Culture Club fronted by out-and-proud Boy George bring us their first new single in 15 years.

Much more recently declared out-and-proud Brit Sam Smith is back with the fourth single from his worldwide smash-hit debut album.

Former Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole just scored a fifth #1 in the UK, making her the first female solo artist to achieve that feat. We have the Cahill remix of ‘I Don’t Care’ to share with you.

The UK’s Paloma Faith smashed the Aussie charts recently with ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’, scoring a massive triple-platinum #1 hit. Her follow-up, ‘Ready for the Good Life’, is funky, up-tempo, quality pop.

Also in the very recent chart #1 triple-platinum brigade, Aussie twins The Veronicas are back with the second single from their soon-to-be-released third album. ‘If You Love Someone’ is more akin to their earlier material, and we love it.

Aussie producers Flight Facilities have teamed up with American comedian and musician Reggie Watts for a very funky disco-inspired offering.

New York-based production trio Cash Cash follow up their Australian top 10 single ‘Take Me Home’ with ‘Surrender’, and we thinkit should make similar ground in the charts.

Set your alarm and tune into Rochén and Michael on the six at six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
