It’s World AIDS Day and JOY 94.9’s birthday….The Hon. Louise Asher, Minister for Tourism and Major Events joins us On The Line to announce Melbourne has secured the rights to hold the International AIDS Society’s conference in 2014. This will be the largest medical conference ever to be held in Australia and will attract over 14,000 delegates from around the World. One man who is very excited by this announcement is the Lord Mayor, the Hon. Robert Doyle, who also joins us today. Earlier Dean attended the launch of World Aids Day in the gardens of Parliament House where he recorded the speech given by Victoria’s Health Minister, the Hon. David Davis. Then we are given a guided tour of the Positive Living Centre and discover just how important this place is for those living with HIV. Vascoe joins us to remember some celebrities who have had their lives cut short due to AIDS.
