Current Queer Affairs – News and Views you need to know.

PosterThe streets of Sydney have been adorned with offensive posters that read “Fuck You Abbott!” apparently promoting marriage equality.  The woman who organised the posters is Cat Rose and she spoke to Miles Heffernan earlier this week for an article he wrote on SameSame.com.au

Miles joins us to discuss the motives of this radical socialist and the methodologies of the Community Action Against Homophobia organisation she heads.vd-doug-408x264

After more than four decades working in GLBTI journalism and more than 10 years on air at JOY 94.9, The Rainbow Reporter Doug Pollard is hanging up his microphone.  Doug joins us to discuss his time on air and the new project soon to occupy his time.

Educating young women in third world countries has amazing outcomes for entire communities and it is central to the Do It In A Dress campaign.  Gabrielle Callahan joins us to discuss why she and others are running around the streets of Melbourne in School Dresses – and it’s all for a good cause.

Finally, this weekend will see Gay Rugby teams from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne compete in the annually tournament, The Purchas Cup.  Sam Minter, President of the Melbourne Chargers and Craig Burnett, a team player, join us to discuss the Cup and why later that night they will be running around Sircuit Bar with their clothes off!!logo_v37
