Pride March Victoria held their launch last Friday on the steps of the St Kilda Town Hall and Dean Beck was there to catch the news that the Prime Minister’s sister will be marching in this year’s event. The City of Port Phillip has come to the aid of the event organisers, ensuring that there will be entertainment in the Catani Gardens after the march.
Dean also catches up with Labor MP Martin Foley at the launch of Pride March and talks to beyondblue ambassador and midsumma champion Jason Ball who last year lead the march down Fitzroy Street St Kilda.
Then Ian Muchamore, President of Living Positive Victoria joins Dean in the studio to discuss the forthcoming fundraiser at ACMI, an advance screening of “The Dallas Buyers Club”. Ian also highlights an upcoming community forum discussing the cost of HIV treatment and talks about the recent launch of the organisations strategic plan.
The Victorian AIDS Council/Gay Men’s Health Centre recently appointed Simon Ruth to the position of CEO. Simon joins Dean in the studio to discuss the future of the organisation, what his goals as CEO are and how the organisation plans to participate in the world’s largest medical conference, AIDS 2014 in July this year.
