Earlier today, Melbourne’s Lord Mayor Robert Doyle launched the Cultural Program that will be staged throughout Melbourne to coincide with AIDS 2014. With over 160 events planned outside of the conference and Melbourne’s iconic buildings and skyscrapers turning red for the duration, the city is ready for the 14,000 strong delegation.
The Stars of sport, stage and screen will join retailers and community organisations to entertain and inform with a cultural program of more than 160 events for the 20th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2014) – the largest health conference ever hosted in Australia. Dean was there to capture it all.
Then we change pace to remember a man who was a huge supporter of the LGBTI community, Bishop John McIntire, who died suddenly on the 6th of June. Joining Dean in the studio is Rev. Dr John Cappa who appeared recently together with the Bishop for JOY 94.9’s groundbreaking series “Inside3 Ex-Gay: the naked truth”.
We celebrate the life of a man whose achievements improved the lives of women, LGBTI Australians and the Indigenous peoples of Australia. His impact with continue for decades to come.
