Out Takes celebrates 1 year on air!

fullsizerenderFor this program, Out Takes is turning one! To celebrate a year of Out Takes on JOY 94.9, we revisit interviews with some of our favourite guests: B. Ruby Rich, who coined the term New Queer Cinema; Andrew Haigh, the writer and director of WEEKEND and LOOKING; Graeme Mason, the CEO of Screen Australia; Luca Guadagnino, the director of I AM LOVE and A BIGGER SPLASH; and many more.

We’re also joined by academic and film maker Susan Potter to look at precisely what queer cinema is, and why it is so important. Potter is currently working on two book-length projects: “Queer Timing: Early Cinema and the Emergence of Lesbian Sexuality”, and “Counterintimacies: Queer Documentary”. Plus don’t miss the Out Takes ‘out takes’ podcast special in this episode, a 90 second compilation of some of those moments that we’d like to forget but our podcaster refused to let us!
