The Not-So-Secret Queer History of the Justice League

Reckon there’s something a touch gay about Batman’s leather fetish? Or that there’s something rather queer about Wonder Woman’s Amazonian heritage?

The Out Takes team do too, so to coincide with the theatrical release of PROFESSOR MARSTON AND THE WONDER WOMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE, we turned our attention to the very queer history of the Justice League.

Our guest was Naja Later, lecturer in Culture and Communications at Melbourne University and founder of the All Star Women’s Comic Book Club. We speak with Naja about the queer sensibility that underlies the Justice League and so many of its characters, and the queer history behind DC’s latest bid for box office glory.
