Dancing the Invisible and the Art of Editing with Jill Bilcock and Sue Maslin

Jill Bilcock is one of the best film editors in the world. She is the unsung hero of countless Australian classics like Moulin Rouge! and Muriel’s Wedding. She joined us on Out Takes as we looked at the new documentary celebrating her remarkable career: JILL BILCOCK: DANCING THE INVISIBLE.

We were also joined by DANCING THE INVISIBLE producer Sue Maslin, whose producing credits include The Dressmaker and A Japanese Story. We spoke with Sue about the importance of an excellent editor, what makes Jill’s work so compelling, and the importance of celebrating powerful female film makers.
