Out Takes Extra: One on One with Thomas Wilson-White, director of THE GREENHOUSE
In this Out Takes special, we sit down with Thomas Wilson-White for an exclusive chat about his new film, THE GREENHOUSE, which has screened at festivals around the world and now streams on Netflix.THE GREENHOUSE follows a grieving woman who finds a portal that takes her back in time. But as she travels to the past to see lost loved ones, she begins to feel the present slip away. A graduate of the AFTRS Masters program and recipient of the inaugural Charlie’s Grant in 2020, Wilson-White is an award-winning queer writer and director who recently finished co-writing the Heartbreak High reboot for Netflix. He is currently developing an original television series, his sophomore feature film and a longform project with Aquarius Films. His previous short films have played around the world to critical acclaim.
We spoke with Wilson-White about his personal connection to THE GREENHOUSE, the queer threads that tie the film together, and why he chooses to self-describe as a queer film maker.
