‘Of An Age’ is a beautiful Melbourne-made film from the incredibly talented writer / director Goran Stolevski that tells the story of Kol (played by Elias Anton), a Serbian Australian teenager who enters a brief but intense romance with Adam (played by Thom Green), the brother of his ballroom dance partner Ebony. Their story plays out over a very long day in 1999 as they get to know more about each other and develop a brief but intense connection before going their separate ways. They are reunited more than a decade later to discover many of the feelings they had all of those years ago still remain, even though they have become very different people along the way.
For this Out Takes Extra, we spoke to Goran about how this film came to be, why it was so important to have this queer love story represented on the big screen and what’s coming next for this wonderful storyteller and director that puts him as one-to-watch in the international film scene
‘Of An Age’ is in Australian cinemas from March 23rd and is not to be missed, check out your local cinema listings for more details. Many thanks to Roadshow Films for their support with this interview.
