Goran Stolevski

It is no secret that we think ‘Of An Age’ is one of the best queer films to come out of Australia in years so for this Out Takes we turned the spotlight on one of the most talented openly gay screenwriters and directors on the rise in Australia and worldwide.

Goran Stolveski is an award winning Macedonian-Australian creative who made his feature film directorial debut with the 2022 film ‘You Won’t Be Alone’, which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and his second feature film, ‘Of an Age’, was the winner of the Best Film Award at the 2022 CinefestOZ. His latest film ‘Housekeeping for Beginners’ won the Queer Lion Award at the 2023 Venice Film Festival and was selected as the Macedonian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.

For this program, we revisit our March 2023 interview with Goran just prior to the cinema release for ‘Of An Age’ and then we play the highlights from the late October Q&A with Goran that Out Takes hosted prior to a screening of this film in front of a live audience. This event was presented by community radio station 3ZZZ and supported by JOY Media.
