Race Relations, Rebellion and Resistance in Queer Cinema

This week on Out Takes, as protesters take to streets across the globe demanding an end to racism, we looked at the ways in which race relations, rebellion and resistance are addressed in queer cinema.

In particular, we spoke with Herbert Peck about his award winning documentary, I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO, which paints an incendiary portrait of James Baldwin and race relations in 20th century America.

We also revisited interviews with the film makers behind documentaries like CHECK IT and KIKI and Barry Jenkins, the visionary director of IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK and the Academy Award winning MOONLIGHT.
