Food in Film with Ofir Raul Graizer

THE CAKEMAKER is in select cinemas for a limited theatrical run, so to celebrate we put the spotlight on some of our favourite queer flicks to feature food, glorious food!

Our guest was THE CAKEMAKER director, Ofir Raul Graizer. We spoke with Graizer about his mouth watering new film, and how food is used in films as a plot device to bridge cultural and sexual divides.

In fact, we think that food takes on even greater significance in queer cinema, where the divides are often greater and the need for reconciliation more profound so we also looked at some of the most notable queer films that use food as device to bridge cultural and sexual divides; think WHAT’S COOKING and EAT WITH ME.
