A nostalgic Jon Bon Jovi once sang “it’s not old, just older” when reflecting on the decades before, where denim vests, red bandanas and magnificently coiffed hair reigned supreme.

May is Seniors Pets Month at The Lost Dogs Home and the Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic so all throughout the program we are celebrating senior ‘pet’izens!

Whether you recently adopted a senior pet, or have watched your puppy and kitten blossom into their senior years, loving and caring for a pet in their golden years is a truly gratifying experience.

Coming up on this edition of Pets-A-Loud:

• Dr Alan takes us through how to keep your senior pet-i-zen in tip top shape,
• We preview our stellar seniors currently looking for a home,
• Almost 20 years ago, magnificent moggie Shadow was adopted from our North Melbourne Shelter. We hear from her owner about what it’s like living with two senior pets.
• And, we’ll be hearing about the Finishing School – a Lost Dogs’ Home and Planet K9 joint initiative – which prepares dogs whose manners need a little polish before going up for adoption.
