At any given moment at The Lost Dogs’ Home a volunteer can be seen folding letters, playing with under socialised dogs, assisting with the cleaning of a cat condo or taking a shelter animal recovering from surgery home to recoup.
Currently at the Home, we have volunteers from community organisations, corporations and members of the public who help out with animal care, events and administration.
This week, as Australians stop to celebrate the power of over 6 million volunteers who generously donate their time each and every day – we at The Lost Dogs’ Home are proud to say our volunteers make up a portion of this incredible number!
Also coming up on Pets-A-Loud:
- We meet Bruce, Sophia and Sally from the Carinya Society about their fortnightly visits to the Home to socialise and walk our shelter dogs,
- We hear from friends of 20 years, Wendy and Maureen about how volunteering at the Home has enriched their lives,
- Our wonderful foster carer Pam gives us an insight into caring for shelter animals at home,
- And, all our regular Pets-A-Loud segments.
