You see it on Grindr profiles all the time: No rice, no curry. Is it sexual racism, or just sexual preference?
Jesse Matheson was the man who caused a storm, writing in the Star Observer “I am a sexual racist.”
He claimed that stating a racial preference on dating sites and apps was NOT racism. Does he still hold that view? We’ll find out.
To get to grips with this issue, writer, broadcaster, blogger, Lia Incognita, a bisexual woman born in Shanghai and raised here in Melbourne joins us in the studio.
And Joy’s own black American Eurovision fanatic, Hikaru Freeman speaks of his experiences, and the burden carried by young black gay men.
By my side, producer James Newburrie.
And of course, you. Do you think, as the slogan says, “Sexual Racism Sucks”? Or is stating a racial preference a benign sexual preference, like stating a preference for “No Fatties”, “No-one over 30?” etc Let me know.
