Sydney Sixers LGBT+ Supporters Group

Erica James has started the Sydney Sixers LGBT+ Supporters Group, a fan-driven group who, in partnership with the Sydney Sixers W/BBL Club, because they’d like more of the LGBTQIA+ community involved in cricket which has traditionally been a very cisgender and heterosexual sport. Unfortunately, recent research tells us that 80% of sports people have experienced homophobic language on the sporting field, including at cricket games. This work can go a long way to create change in sport and in the general public.
