Dr Clara Tuck Meng Soo took the lead last week in returning her Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in protest at the elevation of Margaret Court to a Companion of the Order (AC), the highest current rank. Since then, a number of others have followed in refusing or returning their gongs. Is the honours systems tainted by acknowledging achievements in one space whilst ignoring the actions of the whole person?
