Nevena and Fiona talk to Roger Ungers, independent documentary filmmaker and video content creator based in Melbourne.
Roger’s New documentary “Shape” (working title) explores how unrealistic body image ideals perpetuate inequality amongst gay men: The film will take a deep dive into themes such as age, race, physique, masculinity, femininity and how they play into what is considered the ideal body for most gay men followed by the affects it has on individuals and the community. There are of course many other layers that will be explored in the narrative. The development of the film was funded by Screen Australia. I am currently in the process of raising funds to shoot the film and actually get it made: https://vimeo.com/757433355
